So I took my 15-22 out shooting today and had weird results.

Norma tactical subsonic cycled perfectly.

CCI standard velocity would fire, eject and fully chamber a round, but not reset the trigger. The chambered round had no firing pin indents. I thought the silencer may be the cause, but it did the same every round with or without. This ammo used to cycle 3 years ago.

Gun was clean and well lubed as normal.

The CCI ammo cycled fine in the 10/22, as did the NT.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Weak loads short stroking hence no reset?
Though sound mod should help with that issue, odd that it hasn't.

Just a thought.

I have had this issue with certain rounds, fiocchi TT Sport and eley clubs. CCI standards work flawless in my particular gun. Do you have the Blue recoil spring version or the older non coloured one? Have you cleaned and lightly oiled the recoil spring guide?

As Toyah Wilcox would sing.....'It's a Mystery'

The problem you are describing conforms to none of the usual issues reported.

Having checked your ejector, extractor and hammer and trigger pins and firing pin for breakages, I can't think of anything else other than bent guide rods on the bolt or something stuck in the trigger recess??? These are just shots in the dark though...why some ammo would cycle negates both these theories though. Let us know what the issue is when you find it. FYI mine loves CCI sv. Unless your rifle is now allergic to CCI?

Even though it may appear clean, check the chamber and give it a good scrubbing. You might have some carbon / lead build up that is slowing things down.

The wet lube on the Norma may have helped with extraction where the CCI is more wax based.

Just some thoughts.....

Check your trigger pins. I had a similar problem recently when the trigger pin partially walked out of the left side of the lower. Trigger reset got flaky and sometimes it would, other times it wouldn't. Then the pin came out on the left side and the trigger would not reset at all. Reseating everything was only a temporary fix. At that point as little as 10-15 rounds would cause the problems to start again. Permanent fix was a set of KNS Anti-Walk/Anti-Rotate pins. Works perfectly now.

Try changing the original extractor, that sorted mine out.
