I have been kicking around the idea of a companion carbine to go with my 629-5 mountain gun .Ruger makes a bolt action, and they had a semi auto once if you can find a desent one . There are leverguns and single shots . Well as the title states , why not an M&P 15/44 ? I think it makes sense ,pistol caliber carbines that I feel would be sellers . And even M&P 15/41 or357 or 10mm etc . Hmmm! interesting !

I could be wrong but I don't think you can put revolver bullets in a magazine. The rim is different. I think they have to be tube fed. Now if they come out with a M&P 15 sport in 9mm, I'm buying it. If they come out with another $1,000 to $1200 dollar AR-15 type 9mm, I'll pass.

I was thinking that if they make them in .22 & .17 HMR & .22mag. which are rimmed cartridges . The desert eagles are functioning well too , and with the technology these days I think it seems feasible .

Good point! I don't know why they don't. In Indiana you can hunt deer with a 357 magnum or bigger handgun bullet from a rifle (no rifle bullets). A legal hunting AR-15 would be cool.
I've read that the AR-15 looking shotgun is not reliable because of the rim and the magazine, but then I've read that the AK-47 shotgun with a magazine is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Doesn't really make sense!

The most excellent S&W mod 52 is a fine example of a magazine fed action that accepts rimmed cartridges. it can be done ( Maybe not 20-30 round flavor, but certainly in hunting sized mags.). I'd vote for an upper in 44 or 357 mag myself.
