But i think i should first try some different ammo and different magazines before jumping to conclusions. Unlike the OP i'm not having this problem with every round.

Apologies. I didn't bother to read that you were form South Africa. I wouldn't give up on S&W Customer Support yet. Send them an e-mail detailing your situation and location. You have a new S&W rifle which carries a manufacturer warranty. S&W must have some method to honor warranties on rifles sold through their international distributors.

Just looking at the flawed rounds I would think it could be several issues:

1. Out of spec upper that causes the barrel to be out of alignment to the lower.
2. Flawed feed ramps.
3. Out of spec lower that causes intermittent feed issues.
4. Out of spec chamber that causes intermittent feed issues.

Or maybe something else.

Do you guys read? He said is NOT in the country. Whether or not S&W will pick up international shipping is the question. I would sure call/email and find out before resorting to the locals.

I know, we just got sidetracked on the cost of shipping in the US....sorry.

I agree with you though. Just because the rifle was purchased out of the Country does not mean he doesn't have a factory warranty. I'd call S&W and see what your options are. They must have some type of international service.

You got a problem and it's not ammo related. Get a hold of S&W and see what your options are as I said above.

That is exactly what my rounds looked like. It seems you may have the same issue. I would definitely find a S&W warranty center near you if possible.

Wow. Sorry for your troubles. I actually just shot my new sport yesterday for the first time but I didn't have the troubles you did. Mine ate 200 rd's. Winchester 55gr brass, Monarch steel 55gr and American Eagle 5.56 55gr. Not a single issue. I was pretty inpressed actually. I hit my 1st shot 100yrds without any adjustments on the front or rear sights. Don't give up on the rifle. This is the first issue I've seen on the sport. You just got a rotten egg. Hope S&W takes care of you. Good luck.
