Well after a lot of reading & deciding...I just picked up a S&W M&P 15 Sport today!!!
I have a S&W M&P 15-22 already. My 12 year old grandson loves it!!!!
My 30 year old grandson is in the Army Reserves... so I got the M&P 15 Sport so we can shoot when he comes over as well.
For what I want .. it seems to be a great priced version.
I also have My old standby QH M1 Carbine, and a new Citadel M1-22 Carbine.
So we have the old and then new style military rifles!! The .22LR a lot cheaper to shoot however!!!
I suppose I will be looking for mods for my new Sport!!!
No sense posting a photo..as it is stock now!!!

Congrats on a fine purchase. I bought one in Jan, got it the first week of February. It has quickly become my favorite rifle. You will find its accuracy is phenomenal and feeding it can become expensive. But congrats and welcome to the club!!!

Congrats on buying a 15-Sport! IMO, the 15-Sport & 15-22 combo is just perfect. When you feel the itch, fire the major caliber. When your wallet is a bit light, fire the 15-22. :D

I remember a year ago, Cabela's ran a special on a M&P 15 (not a Sport) + free 15-22. I should have pulled the trigger on that deal back then.

No sense posting a photo..as it is stock now!!!

Posting a photo now does make sense. It's the only time we'll see it in it's factory fresh, OEM form.

Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the forum. Great rifle and informative forum with great people here. I also have the 15-22 / M&P15 combo. Just got 2 boxes of Federal Bulk for the .22 so I'll be at the range again tomorrow. Enjoy!

and welcome to the club. I am very happy with my sport, and I have enjoyed shooting it a lot in its stock form. I plan to add a 15-22 to the family soon.

Flyingmanx, Congrats on your new rifle all us of here love the sport madel as well. But the most important thing is that you get to spend quality time with your grandkids. That is something they will remember for the rest of their lives...the good times with Grandad! have fun and enjoy.
