M&P 15T Barrel Heat

Just received my new M&P 15T. While sighting in a new scope (Nikon M-223 2X8) and firing off a couple of fairly quick 30 round clips I note that the aluminium barrel shroud gets rather hot. Almost too hot to handle. I'm sure another couple of clips would have made in unbearable. Anyone experiencing the same difficult and have any suggestions? Note: I have not experience similar problems with my old Colt SP1. Obviously I like the fit and finish of the new rifle - just having some difficulty with the heat.

Do you have any rail covers on? If not installing them should help. Hope this helps.

Same issue here, it gets very hot. I have some LaRue clips, and it made a big difference.
