M&P 2.0 45 ACP Scarce... Why?

Is there anything different in the M&P 2.0 45 besides the better trigger? I thought I had read that the M&P9 2.0 had a different barrel also (twist?) to improve accuracy. Both of our M&P9 2.0 models (love them!) are very accurate but I've never had a 1.0 so have no comparison history in the 9mm.

I can always get the Apex kit for a 1.0 45 if I even find one, but what else is different?

Anyone know all the gory details?

Smith & Wesson has officially listed all of their .40 S&W and .45 Auto M&P models as NLIP (No Longer In Production) as of 2021 and they are being moved to the Product Archives. According to their employees, they are only manufacturing 9mm M&P models at this time and some of them are being discontinued this year, such as the first generation M&P 9 Shield. They may bring back some .45 Auto models at some point in the future, but they have permanently stopped making .40 S&W models because sales numbers were very low.

First off "better trigger" is debatable. A 1.0 w/ Apex kit has just as good, if not better, trigger pull than the 2.0 and you can adjust the firing point via the trigger loop. Not so with the 2.0 and any slop with the actuator can be fealt during the stroke.
I have four 1.0 M&P 45s that will stack up against any 2.0 when it comes to trigger pull.

The reset is supposedly more noticeable with a 2.0. If you don't have the thumb safety, Apex has something to resolve that as well in the 1.0.

From what I recall, the 2.0 may have a stiffer frame which may/may not help with accuracy and longevity. With higher pressure rounds like a 40, or even the 9, may make some difference. The 45 is fairly low pressure. Comparing the 40 in a 180 JHP with a comparable 45 w/ 185 JHP, the 45 is ~ 10000 PSI less than the 40.

The slide has some cosmetic differences from the 1.0. My 1.0s are exceptionally accurate and doubt there was much the 2.0 improved upon. Would not be surprised if the barrels are interchangeable, if not the same. The M&P 45 from the start was an outstanding platform.

M&P 2.0 45 ACP is being used by several state patrol agencies. NH and MA are two. I doubt they are out of production. Maybe just not available like many models from various manufacturers.

I have a M&P 45 and a 45 Shield 2.0 and love both of them.
Never a single issue with either one.
They are the only bottom feeder handguns that I own.

My 2.0 45ACP Compact (4" barrel) was my first semi handgun that I ever bought. It has the safety, which I liked being new to the semiauto platform at the time.
I have noticed that nearly no holster mfg on earth actually specifically lists the 2.0 45C. I think holster-wise it'd be the same as a full size 1.0 45acp, but in any event, yeah, it's all about the 9mm and the .40, no one talks about the 45acp, and it's maddening.
it's like Fight Club or something.

Been looking for one for over a year I've called Smith & Wesson over five times there's only two models that they are making one model number is 11726 but limited quantities I even called Hyatt Gun Shop biggest in the United States and they haven't had one in over a year I'm in Florida and I got every gun shop I think looking for me one. If anybody happens to see one on the internet at a gun dealer please let me know

I have one and am selling my guns due to old age (79yrs) It is LNIB with all paperwork and 3 magazines. I have probably shot it 200 times over the years. Not sure if this the reason the .45ACP 2.0 is scarce right now, but the Mass State Police just stepped up from the old version of the M&P in .45 to the new 2.0 in .45 ACP. I think it's about 1500 guns. That might eat up production in that caliber for a short bit, anyway.

I went with 9mm pistols years ago, but always kept a couple of 45s around (never got into the .40 cartridge)---I looked thru the safe and found only three 45s---A full-size HK USP, a HK 45C and a Karr P45---I guess that's enough...

When I bought my LEO .45 full size back in April... the.45's were already getting scarce. I got splinters digging around on the internet trying to find a .45. At least one that wasn't "compact".

The 9mm's are plentiful. So much so... that a local independant chain store, (4-5 stores in the region), has had discontinued, (according to S&W's website), full size 9mm's on sale. The 9mm models vary from store to store... depending on which branches get which model.

I've been debating on getting a 5" 9mm in FDE... but that means buying another style magazine... when I'm already heavily invested in 59/915 mags.

I work at a range that does not sell guns but from time to time a customer will ask us to move one for them only selling it to permit carrying customers of ours. We will get the buyer and seller together and let them do the deal.
We got an M&P FDE in .45acp, thumb safety, with the blue box and all papers. SKU on the box is 109156. The condition is excellent with only a bit of white paint on the front sight.
I am not posting to sell this gun to a member here. It will only be sold locally on a face-to-face basis with all paperwork between the buyer and seller.

What is a fair price asking price?
