I had the 4.0 M&P Compact and sold it and got the 3.6". The 4.0 seemed like very little difference between it and my full size M&P 2.0, the 3.6" just fits better for me. I like the balance and size, 15 rounds and I have the thumb safety on all of my M&Ps (1911 guy). There is one less rail space but everything I want to put on it still fits. Up to you, find what you like, buy it, practice with it and carry it.,
