Just curious if anybody else has had this problem and what would you recommend to minimize this.

I brought the S&W M&P 22 cal about 4 weeks ago. I have 2 types of 22 LR's that I have purchased: Federal and Remington, which is a bucket o' bullets (1400 count).

About every 25 shots, the shell will not eject or the shell has actually stayed in the barrel. That has happened twice. Do you think it is the bullets? What would you recommend? Thank you in advance!

The M&P22 and the P22, both made by Walther, have strong recoil springs and Federal ammo is a little on the weak side to cycle the slide fully to the rear and pick up a new round. I own both and found I need to use either CCI or Remington.

I have the same problem with the Federal American Eagle. The Remington golden bullets have been fairly reliable, but very dirty.

I shoot Rem Golden and CCI Mini mags. The MiniMags are more accurate for me and haven't had any feed or failure issues with either. I could have bought 10 boxes of 100 MIniMag today but they were 15 bucks each no limit so I passed. Love the 22!

See that's funny because I would say the AE is the best target ammo in any caliber, period. I never used Champion, but have read enough complaints to avoid it.

CCI mini-mags and Remington Golden Bullets have worked great for me. I had stove pipes and failure to feed with Winchester. I was "limp-wristing". Once I started using a firm grip, it worked much better.

Not sure if this makes a difference but i put about 1200 mini mags through mine before i even tried any other ammo. When things started to dry up I started shooting whatever i could find. golden bullets and blazer were horrible for me. I tried federal champion and they worked great, just like the mini mags. You might get better results with the remington when you get more rounds through it. It's a great gun, keep trying ammo, you will find a match
