M&P 22 Compact

This old thread keeps going. I just came from the backyard having shot 150 rounds and I just love this gun more every time I shoot it. I wish the trigger on my 9 pro was as good.

Look at a Ruger LC9S

I was amazed at the trigger pull. Best out of box trigger I've seen in ages

Sounds to me like you bemoan the days when guns were made out of forged steel blanks, machined to shape, then polished and blued. Sadly those days are over, my friend. Even most 1911s are made using a lot of cast or MIM steel, or even (gasp!) plastic components nowadays. Glock popularized the use of polymer frames and the industry hasn't looked back since. Cheap stampings, hollow roll pins, and molded plastic parts are the way they're made these days. If you think an M&P 22c looks and feels cheap, go pick up anything made by Walther/Umarex, or worse yet Chiappa. You'll find powdered zinc slides instead of aluminum, and the springs all look like they were robbed out of a Uni-ball pen. We're a long ways away from the good ol' days of the Colt Woodsman.
Consumers steer the market.....when I read here someone says a mp compact is well made , well it spells the death nail for a quality gun being made.
Plus the main reason for plastic is they can make a gun for 75.00 and sell it for 400- 500
Don't kid yourself

Good, bad, all I know is I want one and can't have one. I need Smith to start making them without a threaded barrel also, so us second class citizens in the prohibited states can have some fun too.

One reason why I love Ohio :)

And I love the M&P 22 compact, I like the quality, like the price, love the way it shoots. Should I be counting the rounds? LOL hasn't misfired once for me. Not a "fanboi" either, this is a good handgun regardless of what you compare it to.

Good little gun. Not a target pistol, but fun to shoot. I just received a Veridian C5 laser for mine. Going to screw the can on the front and have some fun. Ordered 2 more magazines from Midway too!

I just purchased one for the wife earlier this evening. Does anyone have a holster, or know what sizes fit it? It seems when I googled "m&p 22 compact holster", nothing really came up except from S&W themselves.

I just bought an Uncle Mike's size 15 IWB. for mine. Fits both my 22compact and my 9mm shield with comfort.

I am a new member here and still trying to find my way around. To repl to your post...I bought an Uncle Mike's size 15 IWB for my 22 compact and it fits my 9mm shield also.

It does not go into my Galco King Tuk for the Shield, FYI.

I am thinking about buying $19.99 Blackhawk holster from Walmart, it says it fits Glock 17/22, Smith and Wesson M&P, and most full size semi-autos, and it has a clip and belt loop I believe plus a spare mag pouch. I am thinking this is perfect ... As it's not like I am carrying this concealed for protection, I can use this at the range, in the yard, when I want to cut the grass w/ a pistol for snakes etc.

Not custom-tailored to a M&P22C but i am thinking it will suffice.
The Blackhawk CQC fits the 9mm shield and I assume maybe the glocks, however, it WILL NOT fit the M&P 22c.

I just bought a Tagua open top slide holster molded for the Springfield XDS. Fits the 22 compact beautifully.

You find a bad review on the M&P 22 Compact when you go in a gun shop that doesn't have one! They try to sell you a Ruger...

I have only seen good reviews on the Compact on You tube and you can see them in action shelling out the brass...

I still can't like the Luger look-a-like...

Several of the posts say the M&P 22 Compact is not a target pistol. What does this mean - it's not accurate shooting targets at 10 yards or that it is not a competition pistol, etc.?

Thanks, Bill
