Does anyone have a source for M&P 22 parts, particularly springs, OTHER than Smith & Wesson?

We've been using M&P 22s for basic pistol training for the past year and need to replace the springs in our guns, which have each been fired more than 30,000 times.

S&W tells us they don't have spare parts and Walther is to-date unresponsive. I guess we could just buy new guns, but it seems silly to dispose of a perfectly fine pistol for lack of spare parts.

Other than magazines, I don't think you are going to have any luck finding parts for the 22, unfortunately.

That is a real shame, as we've had great experience using these guns in class, and sold many as a result of students loving them. Would just like to extend their life with new springs.

That surely can't be right? But I can't say otherwise, maybe someone will chime in with good news. I have the m&p22 and dint know extra springs and such may not be available.[emoji46]

I should have said good luck finding parts from 3rd party vendors. S&W should have parts readily available, especially things like recoil springs. If they don't, then it's a real shame that they don't even support their own products, no matter who makes it. It still has their name on it.

The Eastern U.S. rep from S&W called today to let me know they're getting a container of parts from Walther that had been sitting in customs, so parts should begin to be available in a few more weeks.

Can't you send it to S&W for repair? They should be able to replace worn parts. Or, you can keep calling until you get a different service rep. I remember reading here a while back that someone was able to get recoil springs from S&W but I'm not sure about other parts.

We have several guns we can easily repair ourselves if we could just get parts (smiths and armorers on staff). Looks like we will soon be able to get them based on today's phone call.

I'm guessing you got a different service rep. It's too bad if someone would make replacement parts S&W would sue them. But at the same time you can't get parts from the manufacture.

Go to the Walther arms website and check out the "about" tab. It appears they are re-aligning their business model. This could explain the interruption/ delay

One of the reasons I bought the 22 compact instead of the full size, Smith makes the compact so I rest easy knowing spare parts will be available. Walther has always been notorious for not having spares readily available for any of their guns.
