Is the M&P 22 notorious for shooting hard right? How common is it to get a pistol from the factory with the front sight offset in order for it to shoot straight? It does shoot ok but it bugs the **** out of me. Lastly while I have your attention does anyone have any complaints about Dawson sights? Thanks for your time.

so do the sights look pretty centered in the dove tails and it just shoots right? or is one of the sights kicked out of whack? I just got a 5" performance center CORE slide kit and the front iron sight was drifted way to the left. had to drift it back myself.

Smakmauz. Same situation as your CORE. The front sight is drifted to the left. My instinct was to center it but it shoots straight (as far as I can tell)
I wrote S&W and they said they do that at the factory during testing if it is needed to zero the gun. I was trying to get other M&P 22 shooters to chime in if they have a gun that shoots right with a centered front sight. I have never had a front sight anywhere but center. I hope your CORE shoots straight after you moved that front sight. Thanks for your input.

gotcha. I didnt have any issues like that with my FS M&P .22 That would annoy me too. to have a new gun that needs the sights drifted way off center to shoot straight. doesn't seem right.

Can anyone tell me what the m&p Compact 22 sights are made of?

Plastic? Aluminum? Steel?

My new 22 Compact was dead on out of the box.

I think I got a good one..........:)

Correction to my original post. The front post was offset to the left from the factory to bring the shots right to center. The gun does shot good so I'll just have to live with the anomaly. I went ahead and installed the Dawson Comp sights. They have improved my groups and I highly recommend them to those who fight trying to obtain sight alignment. I had to file the front sight to fit. Watch the Dawson videos and it's a breeze.
