M&P .22LR Compact

22 compact update.

Today I received a notice that my pistol was being shipped back and will be here 5-6-2016. I called Smith and Wesson to see what was done to the gun. The service rep said they repaired the barrel I aske replaced or repaired he said again repaired. So we'll see what it looks and shoots like.

I am new to this forum, and I already like the reviews on the M&P 22 compact. I would like to get one for my wife. I have been looking at one last week at Cabela's, but I think I can find one for less at a local shop.

I was lucky enough to get one at a local gun show. I really like it. What a joy to break down and clean. Even more fun is shooting it.

Well it took a little longer than expected but "I" finally pulled the trigger and picked up the .22c for my wife. $350 out the door including taxes and background check. Technically it is a new used gun. The gun club allowed it to be rented as it was displayed, but with Smiths warranty and the added lifetime warranty through the club I'm not stressing over it.

Good choice, you will not regret it.

We will be in Western Colorado this June and beginning of July (Durango and Grand Junction area) know any good places around there to go shooting?

I had a BIG problem with the one I bought for myself.................

You see...... I took the wife to the range and let her shoot it......

Somehow MY gun now became HER gun and I had to buy another one for me!

The wife has one. So far it's been flawlessly reliable and reasonably accurate (though, strangely, my kid has limp wrist problems with it).

I'm sticking to my Ruger 22/45, though hers will have a lot more use once the tax stamp comes back.

That's exactly what happened to me. I got my wife into shooting and let her try my 22C. She soon began calling it her gun. Needless to say I now own two so I can shoot mine.

Sadly no. The wife and I have been meaning to plan a trip to camp/shoot up there for a kid free weekend but we haven't gotten around to it though.

That's funny. My wife LOVES IT. It was mostly flawless. I forget the brand but some of the ammo was trying to double feed. It was the cheapo stuff offered at our gun club. I have a feeling with a better brand we will not have those issues especially after they hyper sonic clean it for her.

My wife is on the bandwagon. She wants her CCW license and went and purchased a soft cover. She even said she wants to be able to have something in her glove box. I guess I'll keep her around a little longer lol.

Rough bore

Just updating post hate when people don't tell you the end of the story.

S&W sent my gun back a little over a month ago with the same messed up barrel and said to use "good quality ammo" and a how to clean a barrel write up.

I own a couple more S&W fire arms and generally like the quality but their customer service and quality control is out on this one. will make me think twice about another smith.
