M&P 22X Trigger

My new 22X has become my favorite 22 pistol and has proven to be very accurate for me as well as reliable. I have several hundred rounds fired with no issues, standard velocity as well as high velocity. Today I ran subsonic through it and was surprised to see it cycle perfectly even with that.

The trigger could use some improvement, and I see Apex has a trigger kit for the M&P 2.0 series, but I can't tell if it will work in the 22X. Anyone know if this or some other drop in trigger will help the 22X?

I believe the 22X is an internal hammer fired pistol, not a striker like regular M&P's, so no they would not be interchangeable.

It's highly unlikely the Apex M&P 2.0 kit will work, and trying it could be a costly experiment.

Thanks. I wrote to Apex and asked about their trigger working in the 22lr M&P and got no response but I also wrote to Gallaway Precision and asked. They have a Moray Short Stroke Trigger for the M&P 22 Mag. They responded that they do not know but will test that trigger in the M&P 22X and let me know, and if it does not work, they will design one that does.

Galloway claims their 22mag/5.7 trigger is drop in for the 22x, i have one in the mail so can't confirm quite yet.

I haven't shot mine that much and don't really have any complaints about the trigger. I figured I would shoot it for a while and see if it changes. But I like the gun so much, that if a way nicer trigger module came into being I would probably buy one. The gun is just so much fun for me with a silencer and 20 rounds. Bought 3 extra mags and to go out and just plink away for 100 rds without having to reload anything is a hoot.

I can confirm that the Galloway Precision 22mag/5.7 trigger will work in the 22x. But be advised the 22x comes apart much differently than the 22mag so use GPs video as a basic guide and pay close attention to the trigger reset spring orientation.

How much improvement did you get from the Galloway trigger? Any reliability issues with it?

The adjustability is nice... its currently 3degs outside so I haven't shot it yet.

An update.... while the Galloway fit and technically function in the 22x i experienced multiple fail to feed and fail to fire using the Galloway trigger, no adjustment to the reset had any effect on the reliability issues. It acted like something in the trigger was slowing the slide down and causing the fail to feed.
Reinstalling the factory trigger removed all issues and returned the reliability the 22x has demonstrated over about 2500 rounds thus far.
