M&P 40 Question

OK funny question here, just looking for other opinions... so I recently sold my full size M&P 40, sort of missing it for range shooting, but I have a few other purchases I want to make. I have a 40c and a 9c both with x-grips and full size mags. Down to my question...is there any real advantage of having the full size over the compact with x-grip for self and home defense(not including range shooting)?

No, no discernible difference other than you are limited to what tac-lights and lasers you can mount to the compact.

Same thoughts I had...just trying to talk myself out of getting another full size before I make my other purchase(need a new 12ga shotgun) lol

I know..the FS 40 was my first handgun also....been a month and my feelings still hurt lol definitely will get another soon.

I have a 40 full size also and sending it to business end customs tomorrow to have the grip chopped to compact size. So I will have the shorter grip to help conceal and the full size barrel for sight picture. I'm hoping it will be the best of both worlds. I should know for sure in a couple of weeks when I get it back

I had that done to my M&P full size 9. My 40 is there now and should be done soon. The 9 chopped is awesome, The balance is crazy good, the recoil is soft. IMO this gives u the best of both the full size and the compact. Compact frame/grip full size slide/barrell, aides in recoil management and concealibility. Something to think about if u are undecided about a full size vs compact.

I bought a 40FS about six weeks ago and love it. But now I am thinking of buying a shield to compliment it

I also bought a M&P40 for my first handgun and am on the list for a Shield 9mm. Although after looking for ammo today, .40 was easier to find than 9mm.

That's why with that I already own a 40fs I thought it made sense to go with a shield 40. Plus I am setting up to reload .40, .38, .357 and 30-30 that I started way back 30+ years ago
