You bought an M&P40 that used to be a police gun. Nothing unusual about it, it's a typical M&P and probably came to the department with night sights and 3 mags. Majority of these guns were shot for familiarization and qualifications and in between just sat in holsters

I think 95% of my handguns are police trade ins

sorry I read it why.. what you bought is a nice gun and a decent price that is probably broken in at least mine is...

I like mine and added a Storm Lake conversion 9mm, stippled backstrap and truglo sights.

I got mine from Bud's a a new un-issued from the Detroit PD. Since I live outside of Detroit, I like the laser engraving on the slide. Love the gun and shoot the dickens out of it. Put in Apex ignition parts, and am working on a red dot because of old man eyes. I scored a 9mm barrel for it, and with the proper mags, shoot about 1/4 of the total in 9mm.
