M&P 40C mag drop

Been while since had the m&p 40c to range, but today with every shot magazine dropped out. Happened with both 9rd and 3ea extended (M&P 40) mags. Made sure wasn't a grip issue. Anybody experienced this? Had similar problem with a Taurus 24/7 & it had to go back to factory. I clean my pistols after every firing. Any thoughts??

Sure it's not a 40 Shield...!? Just kidding. I can't say that my 40c has ever dropped a mag, but the mags do fit somewhat loose in the frame. They aren't as tight as my FS40. Are you using factory mags or are they ProMags? Might also be worth disassembling the mag release to make sure there isn't any damage to the polymer.

Known issue. You need to replace the mag release. Contact S & W and they'll ship one out to you for free. Takes 5 minutes to do it yourself

My Shield 40 runs perfect. Was surprised the 40c would have this issue. Wouldn't take a promag as a gift! I'll contact S&W. Thanks guys.

kcbet2 is correct, its happened to lots of us, though S&W has fixed the issue for the most part I believe. They'll set you up, just give them a call.

Contacted S&W and they readily offered new part. So its on its way & will drop it in and back to range to verify fix.

First ime I've ever heard of this problem with the M&P40c. What happens? does the mag release just wear out somehow?

I've owned my M&P40c almost 2 years now and just checked the round count. 300. Better shoot it more.
