M&P midsize

Thanks for the feed back. Have you had any trigger time with one??

I have fired about 1k through the mid size .45 and really like it. The M&P is the only double stack .45 I can confortably grip and use effectively one handed. The ones (2) I have fired were quite accurate and totally reliable with a wide variety of ammo. If I were to decide to carry a .45 the midsize would be it.

I have the full size .45, I'm sure the mid is great too...

I have the mid size 45 and enjoy shooting it. There is a difference in the handling of it vs a full size, it is subtle, but it can be felt. I shoot it on par with a full size M&P 9 I have as well, and notice slight more recoil than the 9. Have not shot a compact, but if someone has and also shot the mis size this would give you a good comparison of why there is a mid size offered(couple more rounds and tad softer than the compact). zorro49

I have the mid size 45acp, fits most of my full size M&P 9mm holsters so makes even better. Just got the pistol and going to the range this week to give it a work out. If all goes well it will be my CCW. I like the 10 round 45acp mags, I picked up one of Smiths 14 round mags for it as well for the house.
Just like all the other M&Ps they are addictive and you can't just have one.
I just completed a shooting school, 1700 rounds day and night fire and not a single issue with my full size 9mm M&P. Had four others in the class ask to shoot my pistol.
Had a buddy that works as the training officer for a Police Dept and years ago he was telling me how good the M&P pistols were, now I have to agree with him.

My CCW is the midsize 45acp and it is wonderful. Use a Blade Tech IWB holster. Zero problems. Eats any ammo I can find. And it is the best shooting pistol I have ever used........ I think I need to get another one. :)

Are you perhaps referring to the M&P45c? I haven't heard of a "midsize" and I just went to the S&W website to see if there was something new! (Not that I think I know everything...)

You are talking about the M&P .45 ACP pistol, right? On their website the only models shown are either the full size (M&P45) or the compact (M&P45c) models. They come with safeties or not, and so on, but still just the two sizes.

45 Midsize

nope there is a mid size. I had all three on the counter and there is a 1/4 " difference (i think) in the barrel length between the full size and mid size

The only difference between the 45 mid and the 45 full is the slide and barrel. The mid (#10937) has a 4 inch barrel and the full (#10936) has a 4 1/2 bbl.

Well, I will be double dipped in doo-doo!

Here is a link to the S&W website that I pulled up, and it DOES show a 10 round 4" barrel. I overlooked it before, I guess, because it is not labeled a mid-size. The SKU numbers are 6 digits: 109107 and 109307.

It would be great to find one with 10 round capacity!

Is the midsize an older model that is not now in production?

Sorry, I missed the "0" in the SKUs. :( They are 109306 (full size) and 109307 (mid size). If you will look carefully at that web page you linked, you'll see that some of the guns have 4 inch barrels and some have 4 1/2 in. That's the difference between the full and the mid size. (look at the photos of the ones with the 4.5 in barrel, and you will see the extra 1/2 inch protruding from the frame).

Both the full and the mid have the same 10 round capacity and the same frame.

I was editing my post to correct MY error when you replied.... :o I need to get wear my reading glasses, I guess! (Yeah, that's the reason.)

I've never seen one of these little gems...but maybe with the SKU my LGS can find me one. :)

I believe the full size M&P 45 has a 4 1/2 in barrel, the midsize and compact have a 4 inch barrel. The midsize has a 10 round magazine, the compact 8 rounds. I've shot both the full and compact, the recoil is slightly less in the full size but the compact really does not have much more of a perceived recoil. I've shot 9mm that had a higher recoil than the M&P45 compact. The ergonomics are great. The mid size will most likely be somewhere in between.

The 45 "compact" is news to me too. I'll have to compare it with my G-23. Being partial to S&W I may just be trading.
