Has anyone shot both of these guns? I was wondering how they compare as far as accuracy. I have never shot the M&P 45 but today I did shoot my nephews Glock 30SF that he just got and I absolutely could not believe it. Hardly no recoil at all and I could hit a lighter fluid jug at 25yds with no problem and this was just picking it up shooting for the first time with a 10 round mag no practice at all. It felt really good in my had to. I need to find someone with a M&P45c and FS45. Any input on this? Thanks!

I've owned and shot the 45c & G30 a fair amount. The G30 is well know for it's accuracy out of the box. I had no malfunctions with either pistol and I prefer the ergonomics of the 45c. However, I own neither now and will probably buy the G30 again. I own a 40c, 40FS, and a 9c that, in my opinion are superior to anything Glock makes. I just think S&W could have done a better job with the 45.

G30 vs M&P 45

I currently have a 45 FS and a G30s. I also owned a 45c and G30. I find all of them to be outstanding. The G30s has capacity advantage over the 45c. The 45 FS makes up the two round difference. My 45 FS is completely reliable and accurate, but so is the G30s. I can't decide between them. If they ever make a G21s, I'll have to get one of them, too.

I have shot both side by side. The accuracy with both were the same and they both operated as they should.

Even with large hands the M&P with the small backstrap felt a little big. The 30SF felt better. In contrast the Glock 30 feels like a brick.

They will both perform well so pick the one you shoot the best.

Is there a big difference in the 30, 30s, 30SF the SF is the one I shot today and was very pleased with it. I just need to get my hands on a M&P45 but don't know anyone who has one.

If you ever find yourself in central Missouri, hit me up. I've got a private range (flat farm land) and I'd be happy to let you shoot my M&P45C. I was very happy with it from day one, and the last 300 rounds have done nothing to discourage me from that initial impression. How much did I like it? Enough that I ditched my gen4 G23 to switch to the M&P for carry.

While I have shot the 30SF, I have not tried the 30s. I found the 30SF to perform well and be plenty accurate for the task, but I've found nothing that mitigates recoil like the 45C. Even my co-worker, who is new to center fire handguns, was able to hold decent groups off-hand at 25 yards. To me, the 45C is no more accurate than the Glock, but what I did find is that I am more consistent with the M&P.

I have nothing against Glock. They make excellent firearms, and I think the 30 is probably their 3rd or 4th best gun after the G17, G19, and G34. However after shooting several of them, I think the M&P45C is the best M&P made today.

(That opinion may change if they build a Shield .45 ;) )

Well I picked up my 30SF Friday. All I can say is WOW!

How does the recoil feel when shooting it? I had the G27, which is .40S&W and it wasn't a fun gun to shoot with the recoil? The S&W M&P 40 was much better.

Recoil isn't bad at all. I could shoot it all day long. I dunno if you've shot the 40 Shield or not but the recoil on the shield 40 to me is way worse than the 30SF. Its a blast to shoot. Good for conceal carry and fun range gun. Really accurate to. By far the most accurate pistol I've ever shot before.

I find all this about felt recoil very interesting. It definitely depends on the shooter.

I owned both a G22 and G27. Believe it or not, I shot the G27 better and found it more manageable.

I now have M&Ps in .40 and .45. I also got the 9mm barrel for my .40 and have fired many rounds in that configuration.

Personally I find the recoil to be manageable in all of them with the 9mm being the easiest. Still, I don't find the .40 to be significantly, if any, more difficult to control than the .45 is.

Ive shot both, plus some other 45's The Glock is the original polymer pistol with the safety system. The rest, while good weapons are clones, folks moaned and groaned about the " plastic gun" . I have carried the Glock M36 for years- single stack-slim grip and super lite. All things being equal I dont CCW anyother pistol. Rite outa the box you can drive nails with it. I trust my life with this pistol

The only 40 I've ever shot and liked and didn't seem rough on my hand is the Ruger SR40 and SR40c. Those 2 guns seemed pretty good and manageable to me.
