I have no complaints. The recoil is a little stouter than the full-size 9 of course but far less punishing than several smaller-caliber pistols I own.

love mine, no complaints here , ammos a little pricey, put the first 100 rounds threw it, no problems at all

I own a full sized M&P 45 and a compact 9. Both fit my hand perfectly and perform flawlessly. I think you'll be surprised on how well the M&P ergonomics tame the recoild from 45 loads. I was.

Yep got mine Saturday, shot it Sunday, and ordered a M-tac for it shortly there after. This is my new CCW. It just feels good when you point it, and it shoots as good as it feels. I was easily shooting sub 3 inch groups at 7 and 10 yds. It devoured ball and HP's equally well. I Just wish it had come with night sights. Any way great gun I like it alot.

As for shooting, just a super gun. Reliable and accurate and shoots to POA. No malfunctions in over 500 rounds of factory Ball and JHP. Recoil milder than Glock 30/36.

As a CCW, short butt is appreciated, and still has plenty of slide and sight radius for easier carry/shooting. Grip adjusts nicely to use preference, a little stipling - on the removeable backstrap only - with a soldering tip gives a solid grip without abrading clothing or hanging up.

Downside #1: Pistol has limited popularity and holsters are hard to find from mainstream makers in any kind of decent selection, BUT it will fit in the fullsize M&P40 or M&P9 holsters (without thumb-break) with a bit of stretching and wet moulding.

Downside #2: Compared to the svelte 1911, it is chunky and fat for an 8-shot .45 ACP. If you want to carry IWB, better be a size 36 or under waist. Spare mags are fat to carry as well, although if you are putting up with that thickness you can use the 10-shot M&P45 mags as spares (of course they protrude from the grip when seated).

45 M&P Compact

Thanks for the replies. Looks like its a winner. Now i need to find one without the safety. The dealer had 2 but both had safeties.

Great gun-I had one but sold it to a friend's brother, since they couldn't be sold here in MA yet. When they are finally certified, it's the first thing I'll get. It shot and carried great.

Does anyone have experience shooting it and a 357c? I have a 357c but might consider moving to a 45c since I already reload 45ACP (I have 2 1911 pistols). I'm curious if it has a similar grip feel and if its as "snappy" as the compact in 357 Sig.
