New to the board so thanks in advance to anyone that can shed light on this for me. I am heavily considering getting a M&P 45C but before I do I am curious if the 10 round and 14 round magazines that work in the full size work in the compact as well. I know they would protrude from the grip like the M&P 9/M&P 9c but didn't know if the design was changed enough to make the 45C more concealable that the entire magazine design was different. I tried to search the net but found nothing on it.

Yes, the 10 and 14 round mags will work in the 45c, but I would have some concerns about over-insertion of the mag without some sort of spacer or stopper. I know 10-8 makes some aftermarket baseplates for the 14 round magazines for the full sized 45, but haven't checked it for the compact.

The hi-cap mags fit just fine in the 45c. I keep a 10-rounder (with an X-grip) in the gun when I'm at home, and slip the 8-round mag in when I'm out and need to be a little more subtle.

Yes sir! Just need to pick up an X-Grip adapter.

10 in the mag 1 in the pipe!

They make 45 mags with grips built on the mags. I have 2 if your interested

As has already been answered, yes they will work...but if you don't have the adapter or sleeve on the mags, just don't slam them in. You can insert the longer mag in the mag well, depress the mag catch, and lock it in easily. That will make sure you don't have any over-insertion problems.

The 14-round mag comes with a sleeve/adapter for the full size M&P, but there will still be a gap on the compact...I don't know if there is an adapter on the market to mate the 14 round mag to the compact frame, but as I said, you can still use it...just don't slam it in.
