I just received my M&P 45. I cleaned it and took it to the range - shot 200 rounds of clean Magtech FMJ. All rounds loaded just fine and eventually shot just fine. It seems that nothing happens when pulling the trigger after shooting 3 or 4 clips. I would wait a few minutes and all worked again. This happened about 4 times during this trip to the range. Perhaps a temporary shut-down when it gets too hot? Anyone else experience this?

Only M&Ps I've seen act similarly were grossly over-lubricated.
One owner had packed the action with grease.
If that's not the problem, I haven't a clue.

Thanks. I doubt that was it. I used gun oil on the rails and such. Never pour that stuff on.
I will ask my dealer.

This may seem off-the-wall but I'm wondering if you might have allowed fatigue to set in and you were not releasing the trigger far enough to re-set the sear? That the gun shuts down on its own indicates your gun may otherwise need an exorcism. I've never experienced any gun get so hot that it refuses to fire until it cools but there's always a first time.

Pretty funny. I will look at the fatigue idea. Otherwise, living in South Florida, I have all kinds of Voodoo around me to get evil spirits out.

I am not alarmed by what happened, just saw it as odd. It does not happen in my other guns. Yet, this one I was trying to put through the test and break in. It shot beautifully and I truly enjoyed using it.

Thanks!
