So if I was going to get myself a new CCW pistola, wouldn't a new M&P 9c with the Thumb Safety be the same as a 6006/6904/6953 with a polymer frame?

I guess the M&P would be lighter?

I think they are both 28 ounces but that is easily verified.
I like the metal frame guns, I would get a 6906.

I actually already have a couple of 6906s. The thought process I am going through is trying to decide which M&P I want.

I am planning on getting one of the M&P $399 deals with rebate for 2 free mags from Buds. I just can't decide on the 9 or 40.

Or should get an M&P Compact?

I got an email from them offering them for 399 to military or police. See below:

For all qualifying customers, we are now offering the Smith & Wesson M&P Semi-Auto Pistol, Model 309300 and 309301, your choice for only $399. To make the deal even sweeter, S&W is offering 2 FREE mags on every M&P purchase from now until April 30th.

The M&P has quickly become the firearm of choice for many serious law enforcement agencies. Most recently, the DEA has selected the M&P as an approved duty weapon.
