I picked up my new M&P 9c yesterday, shipped from buds police supply to my local dealer. Got exactly what I wanted, I'm a very happy camper. :) The local range couldn't even come close to buds price, but he did make $30 for receiving the gun for me. (That's cool). I still felt a little guilty though for not buying the gun from him so I bought 150 rounds of ammo to shoot. Cost me an arm and a leg for the ammo. :(

NOW, I want to buy some BULK (1K rounds) of practice ammo. Any suggestions on some FMJ brass case ammo that's not too dirty and has a good price and good history? I have been looking around on line, but there's nothing like getting info from those that already have experience. :D ;)

Man, I really LOVE guns. :)

I usually practice with Speer Lawman or Federal American Eagle. I try to stay with 124 gr, occasionally if I can find it I use 147gr. Both of these brands seen cleaner than Winchester White Box. The carry ammo I use is either Speer Gold Dot or Federal HST in either 124+P or 147 gr standard pressure. There are other good brands out there but this is what I prefer. Enjoy your M&P its a great gun.

Wow there's a lot of info out there regarding ammo for the M&P and lots more. I've been reading all night. I checked out a sight (**************) and they have a bunch of info also. I love hearing everybody's opinions. Of course I'll learn even more tomorrow and probably confuse myself along the way but what the heck, I'm having fun.

I wouldn't feel guilty at all.He should feel guilty for charging higher prices then what you got it for. That and the ammo.

I agree with John Law on ammo selection.I also shoot Speer Lawman ammo.

I also use Speer Lawman for practice ammo. It's almost the cheapest I can find without going to bargain basement brands. It seems to be fairly clean as well, I have no complaints anyway. I just shot off another 250rds without a single failure and the gun is clean enough that only a skilled eye would know I shot that much through it without cleaning.

Here's what I just bought from SGAmmo after looking for a couple of hours on the net. It was shipped quickly by UPS. SGAmmo has a great website and is easy to navigate.

1000 rds - 9mm Speer Lawman 124 grain TMJ Ammo 53616 - $219.00
SKU: 53616-1000

That's a good price. What are shipping cost'? One of my range buddies use to buy all his ammo from the Shotgun News and we would split the cost.

Doc if you google Tnoutdoors9 he has a site on You Tube and tests all different types of defense ammo. He breaks it down into catagories 380, 9mm, 40 and 45. I found it interesting, it will give you more info to help in your choice of carry rounds.
