Has anybody here had the slide on their Gen 1 M&P 9C milled for a red dot? Maybe my GoogleFu skills are lacking at the moment. What I'm specifically looking for is to have my slide milled while keeping the rear sight (suppressor height) where it is, at the back of the slide, with the Red Dot mounted in front of it. Has this/can this been/be done? I have seen pictures of it done where the red dot is so far back that there is either no rear sight or the rear sight is mounted in front of the red dot sight (toward ejection port). I'm going to post this on pistol-forum and a couple of others also; but, any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I got my slide back (7/6) and mounted the Viper, sweet. The company that did the milling is Primary Machine. Turnaround was about 3 weeks. They refinished the slide with black Nitride, they had to send it out so that added to turnaround. They are a big fans of the Viper and Venom. Check out there Knowledge Center page. I installed an M&P CORE front sight and the hight is perfect for co-witness, the front dot sits just on top of the Viper base. I will need to paint a post on the back of the Viper for the dot to sit on so no rear sight needed. Of course sighting in will be the test/proof if this set up works.

Cheers

Philip
