I am a first time gun owner and I have a quick question. Last night I cleaned the barrel of my 9mm for the first time (prior to using it) and out comes a destroyed O-Ring, looks like it was made of brass.

Someone please tell me if this was supposed to be in the barrel or was possibly left over from the machining process.

Thanks

Could it be part of the factory fired case? If you bought it new, the factory fired test case should be in the box in a small envelope.

Ok, I will post a picture of the ring that came out of the barrel while I was cleaning it tomorrow. I checked the factory test shell casing, it is completely in tact. I don't know what this is and to be honest I am a little concerned about firing the pistol. Is there supposed to be an O-Ring in the barrel, no right? It makes no sense to me that there would be one, it would bind up while the bullet went through the barrel.

Here is the picture, it has the feel and look of brass, I checked the cartridge that came with the gun (the test one) and it is whole. I have not used the weapon yet so it is not mine.

The image is a little fuzzy. I don't know what that is. That being said, make sure you clean the barrel, and that you assemble the pistol following the instructions, supplied. You should be good to go. Have fun.

I have bought 2 MP9c's in the past month. That definitely should not be in there. Tear it down again and shine a light in the barrel make sure it is smooth inside with NO scratches. I would guess it is from test firing the gun.
