M&P 9mm range and carry kit

The difference in price is more than just buying a third magazine. Yes, I know you get the holster, magazine pouch and loader, but the holster and mag pouch are low grade Blade Tech stuff (yes, I know about them, but their low grade stuff is not the same as their higher grade products). The loader is, or at least was, the excellent UPLULA, but you can also buy those separately. So, I would say you should just buy whatever you can find first, the range kit or the pistol and an extra magazine. While waiting to find the pistol and extra magazine, you can go ahead and order a good holster and mag pouch from Paul Giannaula at PJ Holster. The UPLULA loader can be found anywhere - no panic buying on those! Just my thoughts.

Thanks for the info. Another reason I wanted to the range kit is that I was taking two handgun courses by a NRA instructor soon after the gun purchase. For handgun II they require three magazines, holster, and mag pouch. I doubt I would use them again but it would save me from making an additional purchase just to take the classes.

I purchased mine in December for $509+tax off the shelf.

The speed loader alone made it worth it.

I noticed Friday they had one in the display case again. $499+tax.

Where is this? Do they ship to another FFL dealer? That is a great price.

carry and range kit worth it?

Hi all, this is my first post. I have been shooting guns my whole life (mostly hunting) and am going to buy the M&P 9mm FS. My question is: Should i get the regular gun ($429) or the carry and range kit ($499)? I am not too familiar with cost/availability of magazines or necessity of a 3rd mag as well as the importance of a holster and Uplula. I could care less about the ear plugs, have plenty.

Thanks!

I was able to buy the range kit this past November. They are hard to come by and I got mine by being at the right place at the right time. Someone who had put it on layaway had stop making payments and so the shop owner sold it to me for the difference owed ($400.)

I feel like you really get your money's worth. As mentioned, 3 mags, an Uplula speed loader, a holster, a dual mag carry pouch, and it all comes in a really classy charcoal/black case (not the typical blue case most M&P's come in.) If you can find one, go for it.

I was going to order this kit so i went to my local gun shop here in gainesville, and asked to get the FFL info and info about getting the gun shipped there, however they had just gotten one in stock last week, the manufacture date on it was 3 months ago...anyway here

Smith and Wesson M&P 4.25 inch 9mm 17RD Black CARY Kit Online Gun Store

I think you made a good choice. I didn't get one (none available at the time I bought any of my M&P's) I've ended up using a Blade Tech holster and mag carrier for both competition and EDC because I liked them the best. Already had an Uplula (got spoiled with the .223 version so buying the pistol one was a no brainer) so I think S&W did their homework on this one. Having the black box might be neat but all my boxes live in a closet with the original papers and unused accessories in them, I don't use them to transport or store pistols (take up too much room in the range bag;))
