M&P barrel Legnth question

I have been looking at M&P 45's on the internet. Looks like there are two different barrel legnths for the standard size M&P .45 - 4 inch and 4 &1/2 inch.

Am I correct? If so, is the 4 inch barrel standard and the 4 &1/2 inch the target or competition version?

Of course, I could just be goofy (no need to post confirmation on the last part. The wife takes care of that).

The 4 1/2" is the full size the 4" is the mid size. I have both, I prefer the mid size myself.

Thanks for the response. Is the grip legnth the same?

The grip length is the same on both. The compact is the same barrel as the mid size but has an 8 shot mag instead of the full size and mid size 10 shot mag.

I have several 14 round factory mags for mine and CTC laser grips. It's my nightstand gun.
