I decided it was time to replace the mag springs in my BG 380 so I ordered 2 from Galloway Precision that are claimed to be 10% "stiffer" than the OEM. They are longer than the old ones yet have the same number of coils. They do indeed seem to be stiffer but the mags are still easy enough to load. I haven't tried them in action yet. $7.00 each plus $6.95 shipping.

I've run about 100 rounds through my new BG .380 and no issues so far (other than with the shooter).

I'm curious, what made you think it was time for replacements? And, were you having feed issues that made you want a stronger spring?

Thanks

I've never had any feed issues with this pistol. It was nearing 3 years old with about 1000 rounds. A few months back I had one spring that overlapped one coil. I straightened it out and it seemed OK, but still... I went with stiffer springs because my fat left thumb tends to ride on the slide stop occasionally, preventing last round hold open. I think these might just help alleviate that situation. We shall see. It's NBD either way.

Please let me know if the springs help with the last round holding open issue. I have this issue with my BG380 and always thought it was the magazines. Plus the BG is going to the wife so i want to run as smooth as possible.

$7 seems like a cheap fix too

Take a look at this video for an issue with mags not ejecting and not holding the slide open on last round. This guy's BG definitely had a problem. Just try to ignore all his rambling if you can.

I think that guy was buzzed when he filmed that piece....Interesting to watch though.he pointed out some obvious problems, clearly that gun was substandard. Made me laugh

Tried out the new magazine springs today. All is well again. The problem I had was more an issue of my large mitts and riding the slide stop. Anyway the new springs seem to compensate for that.

Were you having any problem it FTF or FTE?? Is that also one the reason you change the spring.

No I haven't had any feeding problems with this gun at all. Still don't.

Hornady Critical Defense for carry, usually. Right now I have some Fiocchi 95gr FMJ for range use. I have used a wide variety of FMJ that all worked fine "except" some Blackhills remanufactured stuff that had hard primers. That stuff wouldn't even work right in a Glock 42.
