I have a 2.0 compact 9mm. Looking to find a performance center core slide in 4.25". I've found a couple of slides that should work but one says its works with a safety and the other is for the frame with no manual safety. Should that matter at all? Aren't the slides the same? There is almost a $100 difference too.

It’s not for frames with a manual safety, it’s for guns with the magazine disconnect safety. I’d your gun came with the magazine disconnect (it cannot fire with the mag removed) then order the version for mag disconnect guns.

But what would be the difference in slides? Isn't the magazine disconnect that little tab in the mag well that pops up when a magazine is inserted. I have a gen 1 M&P 40c that you need to push that tab down so the slide will release to be taken apart, unless it does something like that I guess.

I'd like to here the real difference in the slide too between a 1.0 and 2.0 .
IS your 2.0 compact a 4" model ??
Wife has a m&p9c , old model I removed the mag disconnect and no iuses with . I have a gen 1 m&p 4.25 40 with thumb safety but have used my wifes 4.25 CORE slide on it a number of times for carry and range with no issues . From the chamber back there's not a lick of different in the underside of the slide between the three that matter as far as a mag disconnect goes that's all in the lower and my wifes CORE slide works well with a thumb safety lower .

We have no 2.0 in the house but I tell you its unlikely the 1.0 core slide will make for a better shooter than what you have now and if you want a optic option then send your slide off to be milled - http://primarymachine.com/m-p-optic-milling/

Beside the cost for the core slide is crazy .

My wifes was so bad it shot what looked like a pattern , not a group at 25 yards . I ended up fitting a apex gunsmith fit barrel to it and now have a 1.1" 5 shot 25 yard pistol when this old dog does his job at the bench .

Yes my compact has the 4" barrel. I have a M&P 40c with the magazine safety and the slides underneath look identical other than the length differences and the extractor.
