Looks like I will be moving to NYC and living in Manhattan. I have a M&P with muzzle break, 25-rd magazines, collapse stock...am i going to be allowed to keep this in my apartment with a permit ? If not, can i store it at a rifle club in NJ, CT, RI or somewhere else nearby ?

Just wondering if i should bring it with me or leave it behind ? I also have a 308, 24" rifle without a break/moderator. Is that less of a problem (despite it being more leathal) ?

Thanks guys

I think the laws in NYC are much stricter than NJ. You can't have the stock that moves, it has to be permenatly pinned. 25 rounds are no good you need the 10 round magazine. I don't know about RI, but NJ and CT are the same way, as well as MA. Vermont and NH and not communist states. I would suggest going on the net and finding out exactly what the laws are as I have only "heard" from friends about NYC in particlular.
Good Luck,
Rich

In CT you can have 25 round mags but I'm not sure about anything else. I know because my friend in CT just bought 25 round mags for his 15-22.

In NY almost everything you have on your 15-22 is illegal. The 308 sounds like it would be all right as long as you don't have mags more than 10 rounds. IF the mag was made before 1992 those are legal.

Thanks guys. Sounds like gun control in NYC is stricter than here in Europe, that is just crazy. I thought you guys had rights under the constitution. Politicians suck. My 308 has 10 round and 5 round mags.

Well, I will respect your laws of course but was hoping for a more favourable response. Appreciate your posts.
