M&P M2.0

Why the "Shark Fin" Loaded Chamber Indicator on the 5" ?
I think it takes away from the aesthetics.

Maybe because the military wanted it? Only on the 5" because that's the only one S&W submitted?

I am curious to see if extends so far to the rear that it interferes with milling the slide for a red dot sight (CORE). An RMR needs a cut 1.75" front to back, with a rear sight dovetail cut behind it.

I like this type of indicator. I can feel it as well as see it. The "peep hole" on my Shield 45 is difficult at best for my aging eyes. Though I was brought up know that ALL guns are loaded, I like the way this is set up. My Taurus TPC pocket pistol has this on the side.

To make the moonbat state pols happy?

I'm not sure there's much you can do to FDE to make it look worse.
LOL!!!!! :) True! :D

I don't think so. I can't recall that being on the list of requirements for the Modular Handgun System.

Modular Handgun System - Wikipedia

It might be that it only fits on the 5" model?

Well, some sort of writing is in that long box. Here is a screen grab. It sure looks like a serial number to me. :)
Yep, that's a serial number all right. However, I doubt they made those two cut outs just to put a serial number there.

I don't know why it has the LCI. I do know that it fits on the smallest guns. I have it on my Shield. I will ask them next week at the Shot Show.

Just a coincidence that the serial number and whatever that symbol is happen to show up in those new windows? I don't think so. :) I'd have to say that seems to be their only functional purpose.

Oh, I know you can make them smaller. I have a hunch they added it to the full-size gun for some legal or political purpose... perhaps to satisfy the law in one or more of the moonbat states?

I have seen pictures and some photos of the M&P 2.0, i like the more aggressive texturing and from what i read a longer steel chassis but why are so many worried about an audible trigger reset? I have had several M&P pistols and never had trouble feeling the reset and always wondered why people feel the need to hear the reset. In rapid fire at the range i have never thought of it (never even heard it with a Glock) and i doubt in a life threatening situation i'd even notice.

Not in the market for one, but I like the upgrades they made.

I hope S&W sells a boatload of them.

I held one yesterday at my LGS. Just a touch heavier than my SR1911 9mm. Very aggressive grip.

Put it on my "watch" list.

I'm one of those old guys who thinks of a K Frame .38 when he sees "M&P". Having made that pointless statement, I have to confess that there's something about this M 2.0 that I find attractive. I've never really cared for the M&P Pistols, but I may consider this one. If they ever make the 5 incher FDE without the thumb safety, I'm in!

I'd like to see a 5 inch, no LCI, sans thumb safety and in an olive drab color.
In reality I just want a 5 inch!
