Hey everyone,

Was on AIM this morning and snagged a good deal on LEO full size 17 rounders, and shield 8 rounders.

Then I thought about 3rd party providers like Magpul and Mecgar, but could not find a single 3rd party magazine (aside from Promag......................................).

Any suggestions? Even if there are no 3rd party providers, any other sites with good deals on magazines?

Thanks all

M&P magazines are made for S&W in Italy under exclusive contract, meaning the manufacturer does not sell them under their own well-known brand. Buy OEM and forget the rest.

I have used GunMagWarehouse, and also Midway (and sometimes Natchez) depending on sale prices and free shipping if I can get it.

Depends on what gun you are looking for. For most guns factory are the best bet.

M&P I would recommend factory mags, though I will probably grab some ets mags for the shield when they come out.

1911s Wilson and cmc are your best bet.

Mecgar are always a safe bet for any firearm. They produce many companies factory mags. They make great mags for a lot of guns that may not have factory mag support anymore.

Magpul is almost always a safe bet.

Tapco is usually reliable, but not durable enough for serious use.

Promag isn't good for anything but practicing malfunction drills.

I believe ETS is going to make M&P mags sometime soon.
I use factory and ACT-MAG. The ACT-MAG are exactly like factory only they are gloss blue and have the S&W logo removed. They still have the circle on the floorplate, just no logo. No problems with them but prefer the anti friction coating on factory mags.

I prefer the Metalform mags for 1911's. Reasonable in cost, work flawlessly.

There still may be patent rights on the M&P mags. Certainly, if supplied by an outside vendor, S&W has exclusive receipt of product. Buy factory in this case.
