Probably just me, but I fired 100 rounds through this gun...Then the locking block cracked in half. I called smith and wesson and their reply:

"well, thats too bad. There will be a charge but I can't tell you how much until we fix it because I don't know exactly whats wrong with it."

So sad S&W.... I just threw this gun to the wayside and purchased a Glock. Terrible.

I'm calling it...

A lot more than 100 rounds. Maybe he bought it used and he only put 100 rounds through it. It is a tool and all tools can fail. I have seen my fair share of broken Glocks.

You are going to post in THIS thread that you have a messed up gun? Wrong place for your first post.

By the look of that gun - there have been QUITE A BIT more rounds than 100 through there. You came to a forum where many, many of us have several (if not more) M&P hadnguns and we have shot thousands upon thousands of rounds through them. We can tell when we see something wrong.

IF you got a hold of S&W...the waiting line on the phone will last an hour right now...the CS agent would have said the same thing they tell everyone - "send it to us and we will look at it. If there is something factory wrong with your pistol, we will repair and return to you." They don't discuss costs to you, they don't argue...they just say "spend your money and send it to us. Oh, BTW, we are backlogged 8-12 weeks...."

Hope you pick up that gun, get it fixed, and get back to shooting it. If not, throw it on the FS/FT thread and one of us will gladly take it off your hands.

Agree!!!!! By the looks of the picture there are more than 100 rounds through that gun and S&W CS would have received the gun and looked at it before before saying anything about charging for repairs. Obviously a Glock fan boy who wants to bash S&W.......was his first post.

Sounds like it.

If that's all that wrong with it, that's only about a $13 part. Throw away a gun for less than the price of a box of ammo? Something else must be going on here.

Here is my M&P Pro 9L 5" CORE with a couple of friends and a case of Bulk 1200 9mm 124 gr combat master ammo that I got for $289.00 per case.

Yeah, I've shot about 300 rounds threw my new M&P, and it doesn't even look worn a third of that, obviously way more than 100 rounds went through that thing.

On the bright side, I'm loving my M&P 40, and am getting better at shooting it well, I will

I think it would imply that he enjoys killing dogs since it says "dogkilr?" :)

Or it's a water mark for the image.

Almost correct. It is a watermark I use on some of my photos. It actually is PDOGKILR

A friend and I have been to Montana a couple of time to help the ranchers with their predation problem (Prairie Dogs). The first trip was in 2001 and we were VERY successful. The nickname sort of stuck and I use it for a screen name on more forgiving gun forums, and an email address, and a watermark.

In that image it is very faint (opacity set at 15% on that layer) and the "P" is just barely visible. I don't want the watermark to distract from the image.
