I just got one too and agree about the trigger. Which one did you go with? Any other apex parts needed in this gun, or just the trigger?

I got the apex competition kit 3lb spring & sear & the aluminum trigger

Do you carry with that light of a spring or is it a range gun only?

I did. It wasn't difficult at all. I also did my fiance's Christmas gift of an M&P .45. So I have learned myself 2 ways to do it:

The M&P 9 you're looking at was done with a dremel sanding wheel to get the bulk off then fine tuned with files and fine grit sandpaper.

For her .45, I used a cut off wheel, then shaped it with files and fine grit sandpaper.

Either method will work well as long as you measure twice and cut once. Steady hand and DON'T RUSH! I'd post pics of hers, but its wrapped and waiting to go under the tree. If you have any questions or need guidance, PM me.

Glad to see other cutting the beaver tails off, I did my MP .45 FS like it is in the compacts.

Replaced the factory trigger and sear with the apex trigger and forward set sear kit. The difference is amazing!

Yes. It's pretty simple and straight forward... Should hopefully have my new sights tomorrow or friday.

M&P 9 pro. Just got it a month ago. Only 1500 rounds through it. I got it for IDPA SSP.
M&P 9 shield. A bit older. 2500 rounds and zero issues.

My M&P 9mm Pro Series FS with apex Duty/carry action enhancement kit, 40 FS and my newly acquired Shield 9mm . Love them all !!

Just picked up my Performance Center 5" 9mm yesterday.

So far added a Hogue grip (I have big hands) and a LF Arms
all steel extended mag release. Leupold Deltapoint on the way
too.

Waiting on some 9mm ammo to show up and then I'll get to
the range. Going to live with the stock trigger setup for now.
