So i'm looking for a pistol to do my PPC shoots with. Up until now I have been using what I carry and i've done ok. I have narrowed it down to 2 pistols. S&W Pro and a Glock 35.
I'll be the first to admit I love my Glocks but i'm also not blind to the fact that the other manufacturers make quality pistols. I got my hands on both(just holding them) and heres the dilemma.
I love the trigger on the S&W. Personally, I think it's better than the Glock right out of the box. I know triggers can be done but stock, S&W wins that one.
The FO front sight on the S&W is better too. Yes, I can get sights changed out on the Glock but why? The only advantage I see with the Glock is the adjustable rear sight.
Ergonomically speaking, I put the small grip on the Smith and it feels great! Just plain fits. The Glock is nice too but not as nice as the Smith.
Does anyone have the Pro in .40 cal? How does it handle? Accurate?
Really leaning towards the Smith. Thanks in advance.

I shot a tactical pistol course with my 5" 40 Pro and it handled GREAT. Very accurate with its long sight radius and the FO front sight is easy and fast to sight in. At a 50 yards it took me 6 tries to put 5 shots on a torso size metal target. It points and shoots very well.

I think i'm gonna get the Smith. After reading and watching some things online and also just the way it feels, i'm sold.
Hopefully it'll get along with the Glocks in the safe.

Here she is. Went with the Smith because it just fit my hand better than the Glock. Love the FO front sight. The place where I bought it from has a Smith armorer on site(plus he's a friend) and he buffed the trigger assembly for me. Smooth as butter.
Very happy and I can't wait to get to the range.

When I bought my M&P, I was really thinking of getting the Glock 30 because I read how accurate they are. I held one and it wasn't a good fit for me. Felt like holding a brick in my hand. I held a M&P and was like a match made in heaven. I bought the CORE so I could attach a optical sight for my bad eyes. I can see the red dot perfectly, but I can't hardly see the iron sights anymore. I bought the .40L CORE and am buying a 9mm conversion barrel. It is very accurate. More accurate than I am. I use a Deltapoint with mine, and have it sighted in for the tip of the delta.

Just curious, but I would think a PPC shooter would go with the flatter shooting caliber between 9 and .40 or am I missing something here? Line cutting? The 9 being perceived as less accurate? Is the FSS legal for PPC?

I picked up a 5in M&P 9mm core last week end at a local gun show, now need to hit the range with it!!:)

9mm is nonexistent where I am. When it does come available, it's snagged up quick. Personally, I love .40 cal. I have a guy that keeps it in stock and not to many people buy it.
They had 9mm and .40 Pros available and I went with the .40. It's a great shooter and the guys I shoot PPC with don't care what caliber we shoot.
