M&P recoil spring differences?

Guys, I have an early B serial # full size .40 cal. Also bought a later model full size in .357 sig. Also picked up a .40 cal barrel and a Storm Lake 9mm barrel. When shooting the .357 pistol with the 9mm barrel, my wife has a stove pipe almost every other round. When I shoot it, it happens about 2 to 3 times with a full mag.
I pulled the slides off both. My older one has a blue recoil spring and the newer .357 sig recoil spring is purple. Also in shooting both pistol back to back, my older model has much more slide recoil than the newer. The 9mm barrel in my older pistol works fine.
Also I probably have less than 300 rounds thru the older pistol.
Is there a different spring weight between the 9, .40 and .357?
Any thoughts as to the malfunctions vs spring weight?

Do you have the factory metal recoil rods with the bolt on the end like my M&P Pros?
If so, you can change the recoil spsrings using the ISMI springs specifically made for M&P. S&W M&P CERTIFIED SPRING - Brownells

I'll check this evening. All I remember at this point is that it is a captive spring.
Anyone else on the spring colors?

Regardless of paint color, the factory part # for the recoil spring guide assembly, including the spring, is the same for 9mm, .357 and .40. Wolff Gunsprings rates the stock recoil spring at 16lbs. Other spring rates are available.

Note: the 9mm slide is lighter than the .357/.40 slide allowing use of the same spring.

Our lead armorer was told the paint color is a factory ID item. It has nothing whatever to do with the spring rate.
