M&P Shield .40 Potential target issue

"Anticipating the shot" Every shot should be a surprise….squeeeeeze keeping the sights aligned (use both hands) U shouldn't know when its going off……big diff between 9 and 40 till U get used to it.

When I go to the range I will occasionally have my buddy load my mags with a couple snap caps mixed in. It will be very evident if you are flinching when you get to one of the snap caps. This drill greatly improved my accuracy. Also, and this seems stupid, but at the range I will occasionally wear earplugs with earmuffs over those. Reducing the noise helps me concentrate on mechanics and reduces my instinct to flinch. After a few range sessions doing that I bet you will have it fixed.

Thanks for the advice. I'll try both.

I wanted to give you guys an update on this issue that I was having with accuracy. I practiced "dry fire" and my aim got a tiny bit better, that's for sure but what actually improved my aim the most was switching the brand for my ammo. I used to use Federal steel case ammo and I switched to Remington UMC brass and Blazing Brass and for some odd reason my aim improved a good 50%. I read online that different brands produce different accuracy results. Thank you all for the help.
