I'm dealing with paint...not replacing sights yet. I read that green is all the rage but can't get green paint to pop as much as orange.

What color do you prefer?

While I'm at it...what replacement sights do you like? I like the look of trijicon HDs but the price keeps me away.

I used a hi-viz green on my rear dots and still have white up front. I am considering a flourescent orange over the white. To get the color to pop, put it over the white though.
I too want the Trigicons.

I generally fill in any dots on my rear sights or replace it with a plain rear. This helps draw my eye quickly to the front sight.

I am trying out a set of VTAC sights on my Shield and so far I am really digging them. The ability to fiber optic in bright light and tritium in low light is pretty nice.

I was worried that the sights would be too busy but that has not proven to be the case.

I have the Ameriglo Pro I-Dot orange with tritium center in my front sight. And an Ameriglo single dot rear sight. In daytime, the orange front sight pops and is very easy to pick up. And in low light or in darkness, the night sights are very bright.

Buy the Trijicon HDs! They are worth every penny! I recently put them on and absolutely love them! Even my wife really likes them. So much easier to quickly aquire the front sight. Both of us are shooting better with them. I love them so much I just bought another set for my M&P9c and we are buying a set for my wife's Glock G26. I bought the yellow and not the orange mainly because the yellow lasts 12 years / has a longer warranty then the orange (only 5 years).

Ameriglo or HD's seem to be the easiest to acquire for my eyes. Orange seems to be the color that you will least likely find in most indoor/outdoor environments.
I went with the Ameriglo's with the u-notch rear.
