M&P Shield trigger help.....

Purchased an M&P Shield about a year ago and have put about 500 rounds through it. Very reliable with no issues. However, I'm not a big fan of the trigger. Have any of you had a trigger job done on the Shield with the S&W Performance Center? If so, how did you like it?

For around $90 +/- you can buy an APEX Tactical kit & do it yourself without any permanent modification to your gun.

The factory charges $120 for an M&P action job, plus your cost of shipping the gun to and from the factory. In my experience, they only pay shipping on warranty work. You pay your own shipping on elective work.

Boy it's funny you say that. I'm a 3rd Gen kinda guy but I did purchase a .40S&W Shield a few years ago. I shot it once, (which it is accurate as heck), then basically put it in the safe. Well thought about carrying it as a backup piece so I shot it to the range just yesterday. I was amazed at the trigger! Crisp, short, & fairly light. I was really impressed. I'll be interested in the responses you get from your post.

I love the shield, but the trigger is gritty, and a bit too heavy for my like. After installing the apex duty/carry it is perfect.

My PC Shield trigger is very nice. Having said that I installed the Apex duty kit in my MP9c and MP.45c...GREAT addition. If I were you I would do that

fwiw i ought a new 9mm Shield and wanted the trigger to break just a little it lighter so i chose to replace the sear only with the Apex one.....and it worked out perfect....breaks at 5 lbs and only cost me $40

Same here. Sear only, stock spring, polished trigger bar and sear block. Love it.

I have a regular Shield and a PC Shield. The trigger on the PC was awesome form day one. The trigger on the regular Shield was greatly improved by simply replacing the sear with the Apex sear (I just did that last week). I did not replace other parts, just the sear. The difference that $40 change made was very nice. I recommend trying that first. It is an easy install, and there are lots of step-by-step videos with instructions.

Like those above, I just got the Apex sear but also a Glock trigger spring. I dont know if the spring change did anything, I just read about it on the M&P forum and did it since it was just a couple bucks. Regardless, it improved the pull quite nicely. Around 5lbs I think.
