M&P the next shortage?

I noted yesterday that the online source where I bought mags for my M&P full size (10 rounders) had no M&P mags, period. Don't know if that is because of the recent demand, or for other reasons. 10 round mags were legal during the last flirtation with draconian laws.

Even before this tragedy in Connecticut, I checked my favorite online private firearms listings the day after the election. I noted a seller in the Midwest listed his M&P 15, nothing special such as as decent optics or a jillion mags or a boat load of ammo for $1300 m - about $350-400 over priced in my opinion. The run was starting even before this incident. Now its even worse.
Midway has 17rd 9mm mags in stock if that's what you are looking for.

Bottom line... "Chicken Little yelled the sky is falling" and everyone believed the hipe and/are panicking... It'll just take awhile for the hipe to blow over (AGAIN). Then how many people are going to be stuck with WAY over priced weapons and can't get their money back ?????

Based upon past leglislative history, and current media support, we are looking at possibly anything from severe restrictions on guns and ammo to outright bans on ownership of certain classes firearms and magazines. Also, there is no assurance that our lawmakers will grandfather anything. Then again, maybe this hysteria will all blow over.

This should be a big concern for all gun owners. If they don't 'grandfather' it would become a felony to own it (mags, guns, accessories) after the turn in date. If caught, it would make us law abiding citizens felons (and the monetary cost of the firearm or accessory lost). Also, all they really have to do is to heavily regulate the sale of ammo and make our guns a big 'paper weight'. I see the writing on the wall and we are in for a big fight on this one.

I expect there will no shortage on shortage threads in the future

I went a local gun store today to get an M&P full size and there were hoards of people. I gave up and went to the largest gun store in the area and there was long line of people. The day before the line was 40 deep waiting for the door to open. The AR rifles are close to being gone and I couldn't even get up to the counter to see if there were any M&P's available. Is this going to be a problem? It looks like Oregon is trying to get a special session in congress to convert to laws at least as tough as California. It may be harder to get a full size M&P here than a Shield.
I've noticed the same....Fisherman's---OUT, Gun Broker---OUT, NW Sports---OUT.

Glad I got mine when I did, but extra magazines are also extremely hard to come by as well.
