I already have a M&P9c with a thumb safety. The sear block has the older small diameter sear plunger and spring. I'd like to upgrade to the larger sear plunger and spring, and maintain the thumb safety. My understanding is S&W won't sell thumb safety sear blocks by themselves. The TS SHB is not availble thru usual parts suppliers. Apex no longer does the larger plunger upgrade unless you send in the gun for the whole chebang parts install. ATEi doesn't respond to inquiries about having the work done. Any other ideas on who can do this upgrade or where to source a newer factory TS SBH.

they are not the same at all, even using different ejectors, not my pic, but perfectly shows the differences.

Still looking for gunsmith or machinist to retrofit old style TS sear block to new larger sear plunger design, or a source to buy a current spec TS sear block.

Sear blocks

Just to make sure I'm not crazy, are those two sear blocks pictured interchangeable? I bought the one on the right to replace the one I have in my California-ized M&P. Could not for the life of me get it to seat in the frame.

I just put the non thumb safety/standard sear block in my formerly TS gun and it was a tight fit, but did go in. I had to slightly modify one (left side)of the thumb safety frame cutout plugs to fit, apparently they are only made to work with the TS sear block with the TS lever removed. Not sure I like the gun without the TS though, may change it back.
