I am starting this tread because there were not a whole lot of threads on the VTAC II when I was doing research on it.
So for those of you how are researching the VTAC II here is a tread for you.
I got mine a couple of months ago. I currently have shot 320 rounds through it. I love it. The gun has had zero issues. Everyone who feels the trigger, just oohs and awws over it. I measured my trigger pull at 4 1/3 lbs. It is very nice! Before I bought my AR I shot my daughter's AR (one she built) to make sure I even liked shooting out of an AR. Her AR is the standard carbine length DI system. After shooting only 30 rounds out of her gun, my shoulder was very tender the next day. With the VTAC's mid length DI system, I can shoot 40 rounds Friday afternoon and another 50 rounds the next day and I have no tenderness. So while you might not notice the recoil difference while shooting it, there is a difference, trust me. I have been shooting since the 80's, mostly handguns. I think that this is the first gun I have dreamed about shooting. I actually miss spending time on the range with it. While I could have bought 2 M&P Sports for the cost of my VTAC II, I do not regret my choice. I went with the more expensive model because we might get into 3 gun competitions. I did not want to buy an inexpensive AR only to have to buy another for competition. Plus it had 99% of what I wanted on an AR stock. I did do a lot of research on which AR to get. I looked at Daniel Defense, Colt, Sig, etc. I ended up back at S&W because of what it came with stock and the fact that it is only a pound heavier than my S&W 22lr AR.
While most posts are usually about someone having an issue with their gun, I can honestly say I have had no issues with it and no complaints. I had my local gun store order mine and I only paid a little over $1600 for mine. There are others out there who are cheaper. So if you are like me and are doing research on AR's and are considering getting the VTAC II, get it! When I was researching it, a lot of people said get this rifle or that rifle over the S&W. Better resale, or a better quality rifle than the Smith. I quickly figured out that these posters had not even looked at or even shot the VTAC II. It is an amazing rifle and I am glad I went with it and not another brand.

I really like that rifle.

And who cares what people say about the price. Heck, by the time you buy a $600 or $700 optic, $200 flip irons, couple thousand rounds at $700, and $800 for a can and stamp... you realize the price of the rifle is rather meaningless. :D

Sounds like you are happy with the VTAC II, and that is all that really matters. You are the one that is going to be shooting it. Looking at the specs, it looks like a great gun. I know I would be happy with one.

I see a lot of posts here with folks talking about their $600.00 AR. And by the time they get through with their mods, they have a $2500.00 AR. Looks like all you might need to add are optics.

Enjoy your rifle.
