M&P15 picture thread

Recent updates to the M&P 15 OR...

Rainier Arms Ambi Charging Handle
Magpul Pro Front and Rear Folding MBIS
Magpul STR Stock
Magpul MOE Plus Grip
Magpul MOE Handguard and Grip
Magpul Enhanced Trigger Guard (Since Gunny4503 shamed me into getting one ;) )
Magpul Enhanced .70 Butt Pad
UTG Sling Stud & Generic Blackhawk 2P Sling, while I figure out exactly how I want to setup sling mounts...

Researching optics - have a UTG I use on my 15-22 I can throw on it for now, but looking at a couple options, ranging from an AimPoint or PA version of it, or possibly a 1-4 such like a Weaver, Revolution, or VX-1. I'm a buy it once kind of guy, so want to make sure i make the right choice. Buddy has a AimPoint I am going to be able to check it out tomorrow.

Geissele Trigger is the next project :D

Very nice! See, now isn't that better, you can shoot it with your Scuba gloves on. :D I don't know who's worse, you or JaPes. Now you guys have me cranked up to do something else to my Sport, maybe the 13" Troy Alpha hand guard in FDE and a new flip up front sight, or the RRA trigger and anti-walk pins. The H2 buffer is already on the way.

My wife is about to stop letting me get on here. ;)

Gotta be honest, I am eyeing BluGrass's Rail setup ;).

I'm pretty happy with that rail even though I had to do some modification on the bottom front piece. The gas block is about an 1/8 of an inch to wide for it to fit. Nothing a Dremel won't fix and since you can't see it anyway I didn't care. Eventually I will probably put a low profile gas block and a true free float rail.

Minor Updates... Added an AimPoint H-1 Micro on DD mount tonight... and a color change to OD. The Black goodies get moved over to the 15-22 ;).

OD might look good, just sayin. ;) You two are killing me, I should have my RRA match trigger and the anti walk pins shortly. That Troy Alpha is starting to creep into my dreams now. :rolleyes:

Gets worse, I just ordered Battle Arms Ambi Safeties for both rifles, and a Norgon Ambi Catch for the AR as well. If BAD would have had my Giessele Super Dynamic 3G trigger in stock I would have it on the way also...

Small change, didn't care for the DD hard mount, so went back and swapped for a T1 with QR mount instead :D.

Very nice mods...not over the top at all! Way too many range ninjas with every bell and whistle on their AR's....unless you're clearing rooms or working in a self defense/spec ops/law enforcement setting, there is absolutely no reason to have 200 things attached to your rail.

Magpul BAD lever (may or may not keep this, testing it for now)

And since I just picked up a SIG 22 in FDE, I decided to match up the AR as well, so swapped furniture over to FDE - ignore the Black STR they didn't have FDE in stock so it's on order. Guess I'll have to pick up at least one FDE mag so I can be photo-worthy ;).

Apologies for the oily pics, need to clean it up a bit.

Very nice, black and tan works well. :D You've changed furniture like my wife changes her mind. :rolleyes: How do you like the Aimpoint?

I'm only counting it as one change, as I was able to exchange the OD's for the FDE's. I think I only had them 2 or 3 days - kind of like the 5 minute rule... ;)

I like the Micro - just picked it up Thursday so have not used it at the range yet, but I like that I can see "around" it so much easier than normal sized red dots. I shot a buddy's M3 and it's a pretty dramatic difference, at least to my eyes. The night vis compatibility really isn't of any use to me right now, but I got a nice deal with this setup with QR over the separate H1/DD mount so I went ahead and grabbed it. Plus much less going on on the rail is a bonus also.

Where did you buy the tube and the stock?
I'm in the same scenario in MA and looking for the replacement as the tube too long
 
What do you think about the Tango Down rubber cover on the Micro? LGS advised it wasn't really needed when I bought my micro, but I just don't care for "cups n string" cover that comes with it. 3X looks sweet :).

Thanks! I really like the TangoDown cover since it does provide protection to the glass elements of the Micro. I'm able to manipulate removing and replacing the covers with one hand also. And yeah, it's probably not necessary, since it's one of the toughest red dots you could buy, but when you're paying $600 for an optic, it gives me some peace of mind.
