I have finally added AR-15 to my gun case, purchased a M&P-15 Sport II. Please do not laugh at the grip, I live here in NY and we are no longer allowed to have a pistol grip on a semi automatic rifle thanks to our great governor. I have been shooting MVP 5.56 bolt action rifle for past couple of years and decided to add the M&P-15 to my gun case before NY saves we cannot have one even with the stubby grip.

I didn't know that about the grips in that state and at first look I never noticed it. I think the stubby grip has got a classy look to it. All the weapons have got a beauty to them no matter.

How is the comfort on that grip? I don't think I've ever seen that before.

Only real issue with this grip you find your self with a firmer grip on the fore grip to help hold it into your shoulder more. Out of all the NYS legal options it is the best form what I have handled.

Forgive the fact it's a sport.
Picked this guy up at my local pawn shop last week, I'm saving up my ammo for a range day and then hog hunt next month. I went with the Israeli Para-Cord wrap. Red dot is a "Counter Sniper Optics" that came with the gun. Not bad for what I paid for the gun.

I know there not S&W's

Here are my 2 AR 15 rifles
I know they are not M&P 15 but I was a proud owner of one and sold it to help build the PSA one with the Scope. The other is a Old School build with a BCM upper parts and Anderson lower with PSA lower kit, and other BCM lower parts as well.

The recent offering of the Sport II has caused some people to dump their original Sports to get the new one. I have been able to take advantage of this. I got these two Classic Sports for just a few dollars more than one of the new Sport II's. Personally, the forward assist and dust cover are not important to me. I have no plans to be crawling around in sand and cannot remember the last time I used a forward assist on any of my AR's.

And mine...

Having missed being in the shooting sports for 20 years... finally got back into it last year. My bang stick...

My first AR-15 is an M&P 15 Sport II, with a few mods . . . .

First time out was last weekend and my 17 year old son and I were able to easily get on center target at 50 yards. I set it up with a 50/200 zero. It only took a few rounds to get it zeroed. It would have been better, but we were at a Michigan state range, and were limited to 6 rounds per magazine and 3 seconds between shots.

The scope is a Barska 4x20, but it hasn't been zeroed yet.

I have a pressure switch for the flashlight. How would y'all recommend that I run the wire? I am going to mount the switch to the top (square part that connects the vertical grip to the rail) left side of the vertical grip.
