Anyone have any experience with Brownell's extractor upgrade kit?

I think it simply provides a slightly stronger spring which is supposed to help the extractor get a better "grip" on the case for a more positive extraction.

I use TulAmmo Steel case ammo (no problems so far) so I thought this might help.

True? False? Do it or avoid it?

Thx

I looked at the extractor upgrade kit for my sport a few months ago, I then took my extractor apart and realized it already was in mine. the biggest thing in the upgrade is the rubber plug that goes in the center of the spring to stiffen it up and reduce any bounce. I do not know about yours but my Sport came with the parts already installed.

Most likely you already have the "reliability extractor upgrade" type in your rifle. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

While the posts above are correct, I added an H2 buffer and the Springco extracter kit. I did end up removing the o-ring. It was extracting to good. I was getting heavy marks on the rims of my cases. I also shoot a lot of XM193 5.56.

Oh yeah...I to changed the buffer and spring, I can find my brass easier this way. LOL but as said above I would bet you have a really great extractor, but remember spare parts are great to have. I have spare replacements for just about every pin, spring and oring to be found in my rifle.

Mine is as it left the factory and slings casings further than I care to chase them. As stated...if it ain't broke, spend your money on ammo!

"Number One, did they see steel case ammo in the OP" ?

I recently tested 60 rounds of Tul. Happy to report all rounds pumped right on through! I'll be buying more. LGS has 1k for $235.
