I was looking at the M&P Tactical rifles on the Smith website and see something i cannot believe!

"Model M&P15PS - Piston System-10 round, Fixed Magazine"

FIXED MAGAZINE? how do you load it? I cannot believe that this got past the developers, or is it really a fixed magazine, so it is a single shot semi-auto? :D

here is the link to it

Product: Model M&P15T - 10 Round, Fixed Magazine

They make a fixed magazine variation of a few rifles. The fixed magazine is removed with the use of a tool or tip of a round also works I believe. The mag release botton does not depress but rather has a button hole in the center of it that needs to be pressed before the mag will drop. Page 33 of the M&P15 owners manual will give you an indepth explanation with pics.

I've never heard of such. What is the purpose of having a mag that you have to use a tool to get it out?

Its a state law in some places if im not mistaken. The magazine is still removable but just takes a few seconds longer. Not as easy to dump multiple mags as fast in an "unlawfull" situation if you will. From a quick search I think California is one of the states that has a statute on it.

CA Penal Code 978.20(a) which defines: "detachable magazine" means any ammunition feeding device that can be removed readily from the firearm with neither disassembly of the firearm action nor use of a tool being required. "A bullet or ammunition cartridge is considered a tool."

Wow, I had never heard of that! Don't give the Socilist Republic of Massachusetts any ideas!
I am sure a criminal will never figure out a way to defeat that, just like even if they know how to get around a pinned adjustable stock, a criminal wouldn't do that because it is against the law!

LMAO...... Kind of like the high cap. magazine ban they had here..... good thing they had to carry 2 vs. just 1 big one.
