Another big thumbs up for the M&P22. Overall, it has functioned well, except with American Eagle and Remington Thunderbolt ammo, and the issues below.

Was mid-way through a brick of ammo and impressed at how well the gun was shooting. Then all of the sudden I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. I realized that the rear sight was loose...there was play vertically in the back of the rear sight by the adjustment screw.

Anyone else have this issue? Also, how hard can I torque down that rear sight, I know it's aluminum.

Also, I can't get the adjustable screw lower, even though there is room in the spring? Any advice?

Anyone else notice that out of the box the pistol (done this on 2 different M&P22's) shoots way high? Little disappointed how much I've had to play with this.

Locktite will secure the sight screw. My M&P .22 required very little adjustment to shoot POA for me.

In the carry class I taught today, I used the M&P .22 as a loaner, and several people shot way high because they were looking at the dots and not leveling the sights correctly. One person put them all dead center in a 2" circle, so my gun is OK.

My rear sight stayed tight while I had the gun. However, I experienced exactly the same thing as you with my front sight flying off.

Yeah, you have to ignore the dot and line up the post... Kind of sucks... Mine is adjusted all the way down too. I may try a taller fiber optic sight to get it right...
