M&P22 soft strikes

I pulled the trigger on my m&p22 it went snap, but no bang. I cleared the round and tried again, and snap again. The casings showed a weak strike.

I wear my m&p22 out on the farm quite a bit, so it's exposed to dust and grime. After cleaning thoroughly, it fires properly.

I'm assuming all I need to do is decrease my cleaning intervals.

Are there any problems with the striker that could make this something that isn't fixed with proper maintenance?

Well, if it were me, I would not change the amount its ceaned, rather I would just spray some plastic safe contact cleaner down the firing pin channel before the final assembly to clear out the excess lube from that area. (Not sure this is a good or bad idea, so try at your own risk)

I have a similar situation as I often carry on my ranch (frequent encounters with various unsavory critters), sometimes in environment so dusty I need to wear goggles and a dust mask. Solution to dealing with the dust and grime on your equipment is not only more frequent cleaning but also what you use to clean it. I use Sentry Solutions | Oil-Free lubrication and corrosion protection - Body Armor for Your Gear which has a dry lubricant developed for and used by military in harsh, dirty environments like Iraq. I know this is a risky recommendation as it will likely get the FLF (Frog Lube Fanatics) all stirred up. Sentry Solutions products use a liquid carrier that quickly evaporates, leaving the dry lubricant bonded to the metal. Being dry it will not attract dirt, dust, etc. like oil or grease will, and also displaces moisture so it is great rust preventative, lubricant, etc. for your firearms and will not harm plastic or wood. It works!

Clean the chamber real good. A dirty chamber will cause the round to not fully seat when loaded from the magazine. Then when the hammer hits the firing pin (no striker), energy is used to seat the round and not enough is left to fire it.

If you have not yet cleaned all of the grease out of the gun, try that too.
