I just picked up a M&P40 VTAC and am trying to find a holster that fits it. I'm not sure if the regular M&P holsters fit due to the raised Viking sight on the front. Any ideas. I like the Black Hawk Serpa retention holsters, but not sure how well it will work with the sight. I also wanted the belt style. I have a shoulder holster thats leather that fits Sig P229 and also my Sig P226 and also my older S&W 4006.

Thanks

Most holster fit the taller CORE pistols so the vtac sights should not be a problem except possible with the tightest fitting custom holsters and then can call and ask if they fit the CORE model. The 3 holsters for m&p show no issues with the taller sights . Comp-tac , Wright and Galco

My family personally likes Blade Tech holsters. The Blade Tech holsters that we have for our 5" Pro's also fit our 5" CORE. As you likely know, the M&P COREs have really high sights.

I like the Blade-Tech/5.11 Thumb Drive. The M&P 40 VTAC has a 4.25 inch barrel. Will it fit the M&P full 4"
Thanks

What's taller other than the sights on the CORE pistols?

Took my new M&P 40 VTAC out yesterday. I did notice it was hard to get use to the 2 different sights with the fiberoptic vs the night sight. The night sights seem to be more on target vs the fiberoptic. Has anyone else noticed that. I was surprised how smooth it shoots for being so light.

I bought a Safariland Model 7378 7TS off of e-bay and works fine.
As far as the sights are concerned I have found the same - the night sights are more on point of aim. I've had my 9mm for almost a year and I'm still considering changing the sights.

I went yesterday and shot 200 rounds through my New M&P40 Vtac. It took awhile to get used to the 2 sets of sights, Fiber optic and night sights. I had to adjust my aim slightly for the fiber optic and also changed out the grips and went with the medium back strap. Shoots nice, but I must say i still shoot better with my Sig P226 dark elite or my p229 dark elite. I have carried "Sig's" these 2 for the last 5 years. I will just have to practice more with the S&W. I might need more muscle memory training and shoot the S&W more and carry it.
