I have been using my M&P9C for IDPA and decided it is something I really like and want to move up to a larger gun.

For those that have one or have had one, what is your opinion good or bad of the 9 Pro? Is it worth the extra money over a full size M&P9 17 rd ?

I love my 9C, but think I would do better with a larger grip and longer sight radius. I have fiber optics front and rear on it and that helped a great amount.

Thanks for your input.

I have had both a M&P9 and M&P9 Compact, in addition to my M&P9 Pro 5". Both the FS and Compact shot much better with an Apex hard sear. As for the Pro 5", for me, it is the best of the bunch. I am slightly more accurate with the Pro 5". Quicker follow up shots seem to be easier with the Pro 5"; maybe a balance issue. Overall the 2010 Pro 5" I have has a fine trigger, not as good as the Apex hard sear, but close enough that i do not notice under double taps or transition to other targets.

For what this advice is worth since its not m&p, but relates to gun size: I tried IDPA with a glock 27 (same size as the 40c), then went with a glock 35 (5.32" barrel) and it was like cheating. The extended sight plane, lower recoil, etc made the course so much more enjoyable. For IDPA I'd get a 5" pro.
